Job Summary Under direction, the Senior Facilities Technician performs various skilled maintenance for Millennium Space Systems’ facilities department. Responsible for skilled maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, grounds, electrical, heating, ventilation, machine maintenance and repair, and air conditioning (HVAC). In addition, the incumbent will lead and train lower-level staff to ensure facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition, while performing related work as required.
This position's internal job code is Maintenance Technician Sr. Our team is currently hiring for Grade 24.
Job Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership: Senior technicians often oversee and provide guidance to a team of maintenance technicians. They may be responsible for assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring that work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Facility Maintenance Planning: Senior technicians are often involved in planning and scheduling maintenance activities for the facility. This may include developing preventive maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs and upgrades, and ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed on time.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Senior technicians are responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with various types of equipment and systems within the facility. This may include HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and other equipment necessary for the operation of the facility.
Safety and Compliance: Senior technicians must ensure that maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. This includes identifying potential hazards, implementing safety procedures, and training staff on safe work practices.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5 years minimum of relevant work experience
Ability to lift to 30 lbs. and work at varying heights and cramped spaces
Basic computer skills
Experience with Microsoft suite
Good communication skills
Good organizational skills
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Preferred Qualifications
NATE certification (HVAC)
EPA Universal license 608
Level 1 infrared thermographer certification
Machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Active security clearance
Programmable logic experience (PLC)
California building code knowledge
Aerospace background
Experience maintaining clean room at various levels

Summary Pay-Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Grade 24: $27.93 - $44.71
Union This is an hourly position governed by Labor Union Carpenters Local 721 Collective Bargaining agreement.
